We are looking for NSBE Professionals to partner with us to help organize this incredible event.  These volunteers can be from any location in the country, but we have a special need for members of the Denver Professionals Chapter to help us on the team, particularly local Denver employees of Ball Aerospace, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and United Launch Alliance.  Sign up for the planning team here.  Duties of planning team members are as follows:

Session Facilitator

  • Work with the Space SIG Chief Technologist to identify which technical project teams will be present at STS-2017
  • Provide Facilities Coordinator with meeting space and equipment needs of each project team
  • Identify and recruit local subject matter experts to participate in project team sessions as facilitators, team members, or external reviewers
  • Attend STS and participate on a project team during the event

 

Partnerships Coordinator

  • Establish STS partnerships with targeted companies
  • Recruit exhibitors to participate in the Space Technology Collaboration and Networking Event and oversee exhibit placement
  • Coordinate financial sponsorship with Houston Space Chapter and NSBE Professionals Finance Chair as appropriate
  • Attend STS and participate on a project team during the event

 

Meals Coordinator

  • Identify local restaurants and caterers for STS use
  • Develop menus for STS food and beverage events
  • Place orders for catered foods and coordinate delivery and set up
  • Pick up any conference-purchased food
  • Attend STS and participate on a project team during the event

 

Socials Coordinator

  • Plan/coordinate the Welcome Mixer including Team Icebreakers, Friday evening social/networking event, and Sunday Group Dinner
  • Provide attendees with suggestions for the Saturday free evening
  • Coordinate the Ski Outing
  • Attend STS and participate on a project team during the event

 

Facilities Coordinator

  • Identify facilities and facility capabilities needed to support STS activities
  • Make facility reservations and coordinate any needed badging or parking arrangements
  • Attend STS and participate on a project team during the event

 

Logistics Coordinator

  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipping for Space SIG project equipment and STS signage
  • Coordinate long-term storage for Denver-based STS materials
  • Oversee set up / take down of all facility spaces used during STS
  • Attend STS and participate on a project team during the event

 

Transportation Coordinator

  • Provide information for STS attendee round-trip transportation options from the Denver airport
  • Develop a transportation plan for attendee travel between the STS hotel and STS activities and for materials shipping/receiving
  • Identify and secure any transportation assets from partner companies that can be used in support of STS activity
  • Attend STS and participate on a project team during the event
